Yes, I am a Newbie. I have InterDev 6.0 and SQL Server 2000 loaded on my home computer. I don't see the "Sort Order" or "Sort Number" columns in the query grid pane nor do I see the combo box that enables you select the type of query. Can these features be turned on somehow?

Some background on me:
I have created many programs using Microsoft Access. I am trying to learn InterDev 6.0 so I can begin moving my programs to SQL Server.

Thanks for this basic help!!

Can you use an ORDER BY clause at the end of your SQL statement?

Also, the SQL Server "Query Analyzer" is a better program to use when hacking at queryies in SQL Server.

Dear Sheco,

Thanks for the response. I will look into the SQL server query analyzer. I know about using the "order by" clause but I am hoping to find the same query building tool I am very familar with in Microsoft Access. It should be there because... I see it in the books I bought and in the help screens!!! For some reason when I call for a new query, the "sort order" and "sort number columns are not there (along with a combo box that allows you to select the type of query you want to write.

Look at:

I am going to try to reload/update my software tonight.

Thanks for any additional help.

I think I answered my own question. The functionality I was looking for was only available when I would right click "add item" to a project from the Project Explorer window. I was in "View Designer" instead of "Query Designer" by mistake.

Thanks anyway.
