visual Dbase 5 and word97 connection problem.

Hello,

I have a problem when trying to link a word document with a table created in Visual Dbase 5.0 . The problem comes from the version of the ODBC drivers witch is 4.0 on the computer (win 98) as everyhting works fine with version 3.5 of the same drivers (win 95) . It seems impossible for word to lock the table. Does someone know if there is an update for visual Dbase to work with dbase driver 4.0 or do I have to install the driver 3.5 in order to work with word and Dbase ?

Check your ODBC file type, If you are using Microsoft Native driver change to the dBase driver, or likewise if you are using the dBase driver switch to the Microsoft native driver. Read through the MDAC information on the Microsoft website for more information on driver types and updates.
