Visual C++ 6.0

Hi,

I recently purchased a used copy of Visual C++ 6.0 Pro which was originally purchased in 1998 so I'm bit concerned about the age of the compiler.

I ordered the service pack 5 CD from Microsoft but I'm wondering if installing that alone will bring my compiler up to the latest standard, or am I going to be stuck with an out of date compiler?

Your version's OK.
Don't think too much about the quality of your compiler.
What changes mainly from version to version are the built-in
features.
