I just got a new job in Visual basic programming. This is different for me, but an exciting time. Most of my experience has been with PowerBuilder and PDM. I've done a lot of Fortran programming. Anybody have any advice? Would I have been better off getting a job in OO Languages like Java?
This is my first message, so forgive me if I sound naive. [sig][/sig]

If you have prior experience of programming, the transition to VB should not be too difficult.
If you want to get started in VB, take any beginners book and just read through to get to know the basics of the language. You should fly through any such text, but it will be a good start.
