I hope you can help on this problem.

I have a Visual Basic program that has been working fine on all of our Windows NT 4.0 nodes. Now that IT is upgrading all of the PCs to Windows 2000 I get this error:
[Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver] Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

The program accesses a remote mounted drive (drive O:), gets a log file and writes it to a .tmp file on the local C: drive. This appears to be happening. Then within my Data Environment it is to display that data in a Data Report and allow you to sort on any field and print the report if so desired. Rhat display does not show up but the error comes out instead.

Thanks for your help!

I am VERY new at this, but have you tried updating your ODBC driver. Sounds like that may be where the problem is. Maybe the W2K ODBC driver is to "new" for the program. Also check your database and make sure it didn't get marked as read only.
These are basic I know, but I didn't want you to think you were being ignored.
