Visual Basic and Access connectivity

The Data control and ADODC tools do not get connected to Access 2000 database (newly created). It only gets connected to the NorthWind and Biblio databases which are already provided by Access 2000. I wish to solve this problem so that I can use Data control or ADODC controls on my form. Any suggestions/ solutions ?
