When my group converted our Access 97 databases to Access 2000, the Visual Basic 6 programs no longer work. Does anyone have any idea as to why? Do I need an updated .DLL? If so, where do I get one?

Hi CSScott,

You will have to change the provider in your connection strings.

from:- "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51"

to:- "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0"

Thanks for the info. Is there a download site where I can get that?

Check your list of Database Drivers in:-

Control Panel> Data Sources (ODBC)

If the version for Access is 4.00..... Then you have the correct driver and simply need to alter your code with the correct provider.

Otherwise you will need to install the lastest version of Mdac.exe off Microsoft's site and this will give you the correct driver.
