Vista Reset default permissions?

Hi all, I was wondering if there is a way to reset all the permission to the default values, like when it first configured, and before I messed with it?

This one says it is not available for Vista Home Basic(mine). Thanks for the reply.

It does say that you can use System Restore (or Backups), have you tried that?

Oh yeah, I did try that. I set to a date well before the issue, it showed it was trying to reset the registry and it was the longest restore I have ever done - it took ~4-5 hours to complete.

If the restore didn't work you might have to save your valuable data and look at a clean install as a way of resetting the security permissions.
