I have a slowness issue when remoting INTO a Vista box here at the office. The connection is choppy / slow - almost unusable from outside the network (via vpn) or internally. All XP machines on the network RDC perfect.

I tried the basic solutions;
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

even: netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled

Now the interesting part. IF I take the same PC and put it on another segment of the network that just uses a 5 port Netgear the RDC connection is good.

What to do?

Have you tried using Safe Mode with Networking to see if that makes any difference?

Can you post the exact error message (any number?), and what is the Event Viewer saying (if anything) especially any of the Security logs?

Making sure that you have the latest Video and Network drivers I suppose is something you have already checked too?

This (next link) is an interesting post, although it concerns XP, but do have a look at the last couple of comments in it where the problem was solved.

Did not try safe mode; will do that first thing monday morning, thanks for the advise.

And yes, nothing abnormal in the logs. I'm just afraid this is an issue due to hardware on the network layer and this being the 1st vista production box it will be a real problem to resolve.
