Hi all,

Not completely sure if this is the right place for this question, but here goes.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this, I've just updated from an old P.C to one that is now using vista, this P.C is connected to a server (MS WS2003) that is connected to the internet, the problem I'm having is that the vista machine no longer connects to the internet through the server as it did before the update, I've had problems like this before that were fixed by using winsockfix.exe but I'm not sure that program runs correctly in vista because it doesn't seem to fix the problem. I've tried many ways to fix this and I managed to find the last working settings, which were...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Lan Settings-
TCP/IP
#Win 2003#
I.P: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway:
------------------------------
Client
#XP#
I.P: 192.168.0.78
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DSN Server: 192.168.0.1
DHCP server:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So, I manually entered these settings and now I'm able to access and share files, but still no internet connection on vista.

does anyone have any idea why that is ?, or if I need to check something in the registry, or whether or not it's just a vista o/s issue.

Thanks for your time :) .
