Anyone experience issues when trying to access your router with the internal IP? I can install FireFox 2 and it works fine but I am more interested as to why I can't simply type in and have access my Dlink router.

It actaully worked before once but it won't now. I understand fully the anti-phishing setting but I disabled it and still have the same problem.

Internet and all aspects work perfeclty, this is the one small issue I seem to have. Others have not expereienced to that I know so I am turning here to see if anyone else has seen this problem.

Comments please

I should say, why doesn't the Dlink even prompt me for my username and password, then I can't access it.

Have you tried running IE7 from the System Tools folder on the Start Menu/ All Programs/ Accessories? This will run IE with "No Add-ons".

I suppose you have tried Deleting ALL your Browser's History, including Passwords?

Have you any entry in "Manage stored passwords" User Accounts/ Manage your Network passwords that is being applied to the Router?

What error message are you getting anyway, "Page cannot be displayed"?

I will try that step with Vista as you described. However, this did this on a fresh install so I know there is no "add-ons" at that point.

I have done all of that and more. It actually registers seeing the router and looks like it will load up and then after a very log time it will give the page cannot be displayed.

It's just plain odd because I tried my Xp pro with IE7 last night and it does the same thing on my laptop for the first time.

I am betting it's a D-Link issue with IE 7 or as you suggest an add-on that perhaps in some way could be an issue. I will let you know.

Any other comments or ideas?

Did not work, I don't see it running in any speacial mode as you described so I am not sure where to turn next.

Well I got it....

Add your router IP as a trusted site, turn off automatic website anti-phising checking, that option specifically.

It's odd because it behaves differently in XP as it does in Vista.

I can't believe that's all it was. I tried disabling phising before but that didn't make a difference.....must be the combination of both options.......

Ok disregard everything I said previously...... I can't believe I missed this.

In IE go to Options, connections, lan settings and UNCHECK automatically detect my settings.

That's it...... simple as that.

I do this out of habit on new installs and for some reason I forgot to do it when started it up.

I feel like such an idiot right now but I have seen countless posts about it in other forums and no one yest picked up on that. So I hope this helps someone else in the future because I know it will be a common problem.
