I'm looking at new work laptops and found a deal on one that comes with Vista Home Premium. I know that Avaya only officially supports Business edition and up. Does anyone know if this is just something they say, or if there is an actual difference? The biggest feature I see missing for me is Remote Desktop, but that shouldn't affect Avaya.

This will be my field computer, so I will be running Manager the most. I will also be using Voicemail Pro. The Client will be used for programming and the server will be used for training/demos. I will also use Phone Manager Softphone for demos and personal use.

Any ideas if I would have any problem with using Home Business?

Will it being a 64 bit install give me any trouble with Avaya?

Thanks!

You have double trouble, you may have stood a chance of fiddling away with Vista to get it working on Home Premium I have had some success doing this, howvever 64 bit as well I'm afraid not I don't think you will get anywhere at all with that even with Business never mind home premium.

You may aswell but decent kit for your Demos anyway, trying to impress potential and existing customers with a cheap unsupported solution doesn't tend to go down well. do yourself a favour and get the best you can afford. :)
