I have an xp PC on my domain sharing a folder. I have given full access to the user I am logging in as on both Vista and XP to the share. Can't access it...the "access is denied" pops up. I add the "Everyone" group to the permission and Vista is able to access it. I know it looks like a user permission thing, but the user that I am using is an admin on the domain and both PC's.

FYI - I am sharing a printer on the Vista PC and the XP PC has no problem accessing it.

I have just had some trouble installing a network printer onto my vista business machine but the second I set up the user as a local admin on vista it worked straight away.

I have also seen on the Microsoft website about vista having trouble accessing data on a remote XP pc due to the xp firewall. I didn't pay to much attention but it looks like its a known issue

Have you tried removing the Share and then recreating it?

As well as the Share Permissions, have you tried adjusting the actual Access Permission of the Folder concerned via the Security Tab?

Sorry all....my mistake...I wasn't logged into my domain after all on the Vista PC. Once I logged into the domain...no problem.
