Hello,

I use a Win98SE box.

When I go to various web sites in IE 5.5 (Yahoo=home page), no record is shown when I click on down arrowhead at right end of Address field...always blank, no entries showing previous sites.

How to correct?

Also, same story for items in Start/Run field. No "retention". Fix?

Thank you.

From what I have seen in IE, address bar and runbox site retention only occurs if the website is typed in either of those 2 places.

To recall any sites that you have visited in IE, simply click on the History button on the IE toolbar.
It should bring up a frame where you can navigate the sites visited since the last time the history folder was cleaned.

You're right...History does work.
I'm surprised down arrowhead at right end of ADDRESS Field/Yahoo.com shows nothing...would've thought this is automatic unless you option out somehow.

Hi Richardhot,

Actually, the address bar drop down can be useful if you frequently use search engines in that it can retain your search syntax for later searches.
If you type in a string to search in the address bar, IE will access MSN Search by default, and display the search hits.
