Visio2002 std hanging when not attached to network

I'm having a problem visio hanging if I'm not logged into the network. My os is NT4 with sp6. I performed a custom install from the cd on my laptop. I selected that all programs to be run on local machine. I rebooted the laptop and verified that visio and powerpoint were functioning okay. I then connected to my network and logged in. I went out to the MS site to authorize visio. I logged off the network and signed back into my laptop without a network connection. Now unless I'm logged into the network neither visio or powerpiont will function properly. Visio acts as it has to aqqire the network before it will work.
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate a post.
