Hi All,

I use Visio 2000 on my Win98 laptop. When I'm at work and on the network there's no problem. When I detach from the network (ie. at home) I endure these extended hangs/pauses frequently. Visio always comes back but it slows me down terribly. My friend believes it's because Visio is polling for the network printers which it cannot find once I detach from the network.

Anyone know of a fix or workaround?

Thanks

Check the path settings in your options (tools-options-paths). Perhaps there is a network path set for any component.

Did you check the date on this question?

It may be an old post, but the question is still relevant.

Since Visio heavily uses the printer drivers when developing a drawing, I would ask if he is using a network printer.
