Hi,
I am trying to create flowchart in visio from a data stored in a database. Basically its the job flow from a system and i am trying to create flow charts based upon the table data. I tried following the visio instructions and it does not seem to work the way i want it to. Can some tell me how to perform this task or point me to a documentation website or email me a sample that would be great. Once again thank you for all the Masters out there:)

Hi, I know you asked this question awile ago but I am working on the same thing and have had a heck of a time. I found an add on for the visio software. You need visio 2002 and Microsoft Project 2002 to use it. But the add on is called ProjectPix. It integrates both programs together and spits out a chart into visio from your list of data in Microsoft Project. You can define the boxes..etc. I know your looking from a database point of view but I couldnt get it to work either through visio help. If you go to
it will give you info and a free trial download of the add on for visio. I just did it and I have gotten further, its doing want I want it to do. Hope this helps. If you have found a better solution over the past few months.. please, let me know so I can try it.

Hi, sorry about that. I live in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey in the United States. I have continued to work on this project and Im still getting frustrated. Any help from anyone would be absolutely wonderful. Thanks for looking into this for me. Keep me posted.

Hi Tina,
Am from NJ as well.. I am not sure where u r getting ur Information from(For the flow chart). But if you are using any CA softwares, they do have a software called JOB Vision. I have not played around with it yet. But will keep you posted. Hope you would find something as well.

Hi Muralisai,
I did a search to find out more on the JOB Vision but was unsucessful. Could you direct me to the right place to find more info on this. Just to give you more of a background on what Im trying to do. I have an equipment list (7 pages long). An example of what one peice of equip would list is:

Name (center of box)
Description (Center of Box under Name)
Part Number (Top right of box)
Code (bottom right)
Quantity (Outside of box, bottom left)

I also listed where in the box the info should go. Any suggestions???

Hey Tina,
GM!! Ok first off, i dont think JOB vision would be of much help to u, 'cuz JOB vision is a true JOB FLOW Visualizer. If u have a bunch of programs running in a system, Job vision would extract the info of the system and create a visual flow. Your project seems straight forward but i dont want to jump hoops here. SO let me better understand ur situation, you have a list of equipment and information about that equipment. You want to create a flow diagram of that Equipment and create a tree structure to show details about the equipment. Is that correct???? if that's true you be able to do that using MS Project like you had mentioned earlier. let me see if i can create something in MS Project and email it to u. If u have any questions just ask.
Thanks Have a good day
Sai
