Visio 2003 files open read-only; Word 2003 docs are fine

I just installed Visio 2003 but am having a problem integrating with Sharepoint.

I can check out a Sharepoint .DOC file and open it in edit mode. Or I can "Edit in Microsoft Word", have it open read-only, then select Check Out from the File menu.

However, when I check out a .VSD file from Sharepoint and "Edit in Microsoft Visio", it opens read-only. It tells me it is checked out to me, and the File menu contains only a Check In option. If I try to do so, it tells me it is read-only.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve
