Hey guys.
We currently use ePO 2.5.1 managing NetSheild 4.5 on our servers. A couple of our servers are Exchange 5.5 servers and we also use GroupSheild 5.0 for these.
We will shortly be upgrading the servers to use VirusScan Enterprise 7 but I have experienced problems in tests on the NT4 servers that also run GroupShield. The two just don't seem to be able to work together. I had to disable many of the scanning parts of VirusScan to stop it interfering with GroupShield (stop exchange scanning, email scanning, stop scanning of the temporary folder that GroupShield uses etc) and eventually got them working.
The problem I have now is that the two Alert Managers (4.5 for GroupShield and 4.7 for VirusScan) conflict also. I know I need 4.7 for VirusScan and that GroupShield can also use that, but I don't know how to remove Alert Manager 4.5 without also removing GroupShield itself.
Any one else used GroupShield 5.0 and VirusScan Enterprise 7 on the same server? Any advice would be appreciated. I could always stick with NetShield on the mail servers for now as we are intending to upgrade to Windows 2003/Exchange 2003 at the back end of the year (hopefully!).
Cheers.
