I currently operate a desktop and laptop both running Windows 98SE, both with Internet Explorer Version 6.0.2800.1106IC, and both with McAfee's Security Center and VirusScan Online.
While I use the auto-update function I have no problem updating the online VirusScan on my desktop. When I've tried it on my laptop for the past week I get an ActiveX error indicating I need to Enable ActiveX Controls. I actually can't download anything from the McAfee website without getting the error on the laptop now.
I have done exactly what McAfee has suggested with respect to enabling/"prompting" ActiveX control and went so far as to configure all Internet Options tabs on the laptop exactly as they are on my desktop and I'm still having the ActiveX problem. What could be causing this? Any ideas?
Thanks.
