It happens to me in a group of workstations, all running NT4
the pc sees the repository, it starts updating the engine, it doesn´t need to so it skips that step and after that when it starts updating the DAT files, there´s a message "unable to update DAT files to version XXXXXX"
it then exits the autoupdate feature. i have tried restarting the framework service, restarting the pc, i have also checked that the repository is ok (it IS ok, a lot of other pcs update with no problems from there)
any ideas???? thanks a lot!!

i don´t really remember EXACTLY what was the message, maybe it was "unable to update" or maybe it was "update to DAT version XXXX failed"
i just remembered that, just that

nop, just the same as appears in the autoupdate window (i checked it out). it just doesn´t update and gives no apparent reason has it happened to you sometime?

here´s the log file which indicates exactly what the error is

No, it hasn't happened to me: I don't have any NT clients. :)

What NT service pack are you on?

they have SP6...
virusscan enterprise needs it or else it won´t install

strange......... really weird
well, i hope that someone else know how to fix this problem!!
thanks for the help anyways :)

There are log files on the workstations that may give you more insight to the problem. I don't remember what they are called, but they are in the Vshield installation directory and are straight forward.

that´s the autoupdate task log that i retrieved directly from the workstation
it´s not the agent log
