Virusscan 4.5.1 autoupdate on WK2 Pro

Hello,

When using auto update on a win98 i have scheduled the updates for a specific time in the afternoon, (we only have modems for updating at the moment) but before trying to download the latest dats, mcafee will automatically bring up the dial up networking window, prompting us to click on connect so we can make an internet connection.

Although this works fine in win98 we simply cannot get the same effect using win2k pro or win xp, mcafee just trys to update without prompting us with the dial up networking window.

Is there anyway we can get this working, ive tried all the forums and help on nai.com and nobody seems to know.

Any help would be appreciated.

From Internet Explorer, go to Tools/Internet Options/Connections and select "Dial whenever a network connection is not detected". This should do the trick on any platform.

Tried that, unfortunately it didnt help.

Any other suggestions.
