Viruses hidden in font files?

I downloaded a font definition file (*.ttf) from some free font website. If I were to use this font, is there any possibility of becoming infected? Font definition files presumably don't contain executable code, plus virus scans aren't showing anything, but I'm paranoid. Google has revealed little. Has there ever been known cases where virus or spyware infection resulted from using fonts?

Thanks,
Petey

I've never heard of a true font file being infected, because as you said, font definitions aren't executable. There are however virii that install themselves into the c:/windows/fonts directory, but they are .exe or .vbs files. Just make sure it doesn't have one of those double extentions like somefont.ttf.exe
