My friend has a Sony laptop and the antivirus software found a virus W32/Gibe-f in a file LSETEND.EXE that I deleted in safe mode. Now I can't run a program because they seem to be looking for Windows\LSETEND.EXE. I've looked on my Windows ME computer and I don't have a file by that name on my system... help

Hello,

You have a worm I can give you more info. by giving you this site. My mom got the same thing by the mail it said she needed to download a patch and it was by microsoft so she did. Then she deleted the Norton for some reason then when I tried to install it I couldn't. I thought the only thing that would prevent the installation of an antivirus would be a virus and that's when the fun began. Go to and check it out.
Keep us updated,
Cindy

Cidy...Thanks for your help. I logged on to Sophos, tracked down the virus and the solution and after quite a lot re-engineering, I got the file registry back to normal and was then able to delete the virus (.exe) file. Your help was really appreciated

Anytime Montofri, [2thumbsup]

You probably got your [worm] from your email or Kazaa. Well glad I helped and that you got that nasty pain out. I know it is time consuming.
