Can anyone help me with the removal of this virus. I have enstalled McAfee but it can not remove, delete or clean this file.

Any suggestions please.

hi, welcome to TSG.

It sounds like you have smitfraud or one of it's variants. Best tp download hijack this and post a log!

Download hijack this from the link below. Please do this. Click here:

to download HijackThis. Click scan and save a logfile, then post it here so
we can take a look at it for you. Don't click fix on anything in hijack this
as most of the files are legitimate.

Many Thanks for your response. I have downloaded the program and will post the result it tonight after work.

Tee

Further to this post. I got some help from this link:

Many thanks to the guys there. smitRem found 1 problem, Ad-Aware SE found 13 critial problems and Ewido found another 4. I have yet to finish the Panda scan. It appears that my virus has gone fingers crossed. I did do the Hijack log file but left it home. There were no listings same as the Symptoms in a HijackThis Log: so that would be a plus.

Cheers Tee.

you should really post a hijack this log as smitfraud has many others with it now and has morphed into spyaxe and razeware!

Here is the Hijack log file before I cleaned my computer of the virus W32/Alemod.e.dll.

Your log is clean , just navigate to that location in the registry and change the page to something of your preference or something like google.com or yahoo.com.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = c:\windows\SYSTEM\blank.htm , this should be changed.
