anyone know of any anti-virus program that can scan from a boot cd with up to date definitions? something that works like memtest.

my problems is that, my winxp can't finish booting at normal mode, the bar stops moving. I can boot into safe mode, and used NOD32 and check i was infected by rootkit. so, nod32 removed it in safe mode, but I still can't get windows to boot in normal mode.

did nothing from the last known working boot.

also, something strange is that ubuntu live cd 7.04 and 8.04 both won't boot from live cd.

ideas? thanks.

Sophos used to have a virus scanner/fixer that would boot from a cd but I don't see it anymore.

Bart PE used to allow you to put a anti-virus on their boot disk. I can't seem to get to their site right now, though.

Helix has F-Prot in their boot disk. Look at .
