We want to put virus protection software on our SQL Server and I was wondering if anyone knows of any issues with certain virus software and SQL. Currently, our server is behind a firewall but we would like to put virus protection on the box as files will be uploaded from clients.

Are there any particular softwares that run better with SQL. All recommendations greatfully accepted.

I don't know if there is any virus protection software that "runs better with SQL." I also don't know of any virus software that doesn't have some issues. We run McAfee on our NT Servers with SQL 7 and SQL 2000. We don't seem to have any problems. There have been performance issues in the past but these have been resolved.

Other sites in our corporation run Symantec's Norton AntiVirus software and don't seem to have any major issues. Terry L. Broadbent
