Virus protection is turned off??????

This very annoying pop up from Symantec keeps presenting itself every few seconds.

Your computer is at risk in the following areas:

-Virus protection is turned off

Open your Norton product to resolve these issues.

etc....

Wondering if anyone has seen this lately. Possibly some malware or corrupt registry settings?

I guess I could uninstall and reinstall, just checking first to see if anyone else has seen this.

...I am also having this problem with Norton Pro 2003. The Auto-Protect is enabled but I get The same message that it is off...would uninstalling and re-installing resolve this????

Cartooner,

I uninstalled and re-installed the software and it seems to have worked.

I have seen the pop-up occasionally since then, but if I close it, it doesn't pop back up every few seconds like it was before.

Still not completely sure what caused this issue or why it is intermittent now.

Let me know if you figure this one out.

I also get this with my Norton Client Security and even if I say that I will monitor it myself after a reboot it re-appears.

I also get this annoying popup on my norton antivirus 2003. Before i reinstall it however, does anyone know, do you lose your subscription when you do so.

No, I have had to reinstall it twice already. Wish I could figure out the cause.
