Virus problems

I would like some help from anyone who can offer it. I apparently downloaded a virus called "pe spaces.1445" on my computer. I discovered it when I ran an onling virus scanner (

because a game didn't work right and the support file for the game told me to check for viruses. I don't know what to do! I didn't have an antivirus program installed on my computer prior to this and can't install one now. I tried to, but when I tried to run the program, it said that one of it's files were changed possibly due to a virus infection. I looked up some similar viruses (same name, different numbers) and it said that the virus was very distructive. I'm basically new to this whole virus thing, and don't know what to do... Goto an anti virus providers' website i.e.

http://www.nai.com

go to their virus library and find your little treasure and read all about it and how to get rid of it manually.

You probably want to run a DOS scanner. There are a few free ones on the web. Try downloading F-Prot (

http://www.f-prot.com/download/index.html),

saving the Zip file to your C: drive. Restart the PC in DOS mode, unzip the file and run the program.

btw The virus you have is only destructive on the 1st of June - so you don't have to panic, yet! (Unless your PC clock is set incorrectly!)

lateott156, download the evaluation version of Protector Plus from here:

Then restart your computer into safe mode and install that program. Then while in safe mode, run a scan with it and see if it'll remove the virus for you. It's about the only antivirus program i've seen that can remove the spaces virus.
