virus JS_Play.A---also known as JS_Exception.Gen?

Several weeks ago my anti-virus software found and "cleaned" a JS_Play.A malware from my computer. Ever since then---when my computer starts up it has acted weird. Prior to start up there are green moving lines on the screen. Internet seems to run a lot slower. I have run several virus scans and nothing shows up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The JS.Exception is a trojan which exploits a vulnerability in the MS Java Machine. There is a patch available from MS at

Can't say I've heard of the other symptoms though.
