I have the free 8.5 version of AVG, but recently started having major virus issues and can't seem to keep them gone. Can someone look at the log and point me in the right direction? Where to start to completely get rid of these? Thanks in advance,
Sherry

What are these, do you know? Do you play any online games?

If not, I'd remove those.

I'd also try the following:
[OL][LI]Free Online Scan by Trendnet PC Micro[/LI]
[LI]Download, install, and run Malwarebytes AntiMalware[/LI]
[li]Download and run SuperAntispyware[/li]
[li]If you don't already have it, download, install, run MS Windows Defender[/li]
[li]Download, install, and run CCleaner[/li]
[li]Download, install, and run IOBit Advanced System Care[/li]
[li]You can also download, install, and run Glary Utilities - does almost the same as Advanced System Care. I personally like using both, as it seems one will catch things the other misses... similar to the malware scanners.[/li]
[li]Once you've done some clean-up, Turn off System Restore, reboot, scan again with at least one of the scanners. Remove anything found, reboot, and then re-enable System Restore. The reason is that many baddies like to hide in System Restore files.[/li]
[li]After all of that is done, it wouldn't hurt to also download, install, and configure SpywareBlaster[/li]
[/ol]

Of course, after all of that, it wouldn't hurt to run a fresh HJT log and post it here.

And unless you really want all those extra apps, there are a few I'd personally remove:

All the HP software - such as the HP updates, HP separate support, etc... any "custom" HP apps... just make sure you have system restore enabled before removing any, so that if it seems like anything isn't working correctly, you can go back to before you uninstalled each. You shouldn't have any issues, but using system restore is just a good idea for installing/uninstalling hardware and software.

I'd also remove all of these:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =

That is unless you prefer going to all the HP sites. I'm not crazy about anybody taking over all of my web defaults, OEM or not.
