A co-worker of mine is running Win 98 SE, and has never updated her McAffee. Now sh'e's having Compuserve problems, and CS has told her she has a virus.

My Norton is completely up to date, but I'm running Win 2K Pro on an NTFS partition, and I can't create a Norton Rescue set. (I'm assuming there's some causal relationship here). Does anyone know how I can use my Norton to scan her system?

Thank you!

You could remove her hd and put it into your computer as a slave and your hd as a master. Boot the computer up and scan away.

Radical! I never thought of that one - great as a last resort. (But I can just see her face if I walked off with her hard drive...)

After an hour on the Symantec site (Slow connection...) I finally gained access to their esoteric knowledge base. It's under the "Feedback" link, so I guess you have to get good and angry before you can get anywhere with them. I downloaded a rescue disk set, and now I just need to figure out how and if I can use it to do a simple scan.

Thanks for the input!
