Virus definition update problem

Hi,
I'm having problems with the Virus definition update, I have to delete the settings.liveupdate file from c:\winnt\profiles\all users\aplication data\symantec\liveupdate, if I do not do this, the update doesn't work, so I need to delete this file manually so the antivirus can be updated.
What can I do to solve this problem?
