There is an unnamed folder on my desktop. If I click on it and press delete on my keyboard, nothing happens. If I drag it into my trash bin, nothing happens. It dosen't show up if i look for it under a DOS prompt. When I right click on it, the only options I have are cut, create shortcut, and delete. They do nothing also. I am a little paranoid after reformatting from the w32.pinfi virus. Also, ever since my reformat, no matter how many times i reinstall norton antivirus, there is an error on the email scanning and it is automatically disabled for normal protection. Anyone have any advise?? Any and all would be greatly appreciated. -aly

Can you see it if you go to msdos and move to the desktop directory?
May have to do an attrib *.* to get it to show up.

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

go to the folder where your norton virus software is an rename the scan.exe file to clean.exe. When you are done rename it back to scan.exe or what ever its name is.

Which os are you running? If you are running FAT fs boot to DOS and go to your desktop and use the attrib *.* in your desktop folder and try deleting it if found, then reboot to Windows.

Also try uninstalling the antivirus and then attempt to delete the folder. If successful reinstall the antivirus. Hope it helps.

Remember, life is what you make it.
