I'm about to install an XP-based PC for our Print-Director which communicates to our mainframe.

I found out that the network engineeruing placed the PC's network connection on an SNA segment. The LANdrop port that this PC uses only talks SNA protocol and not IP.

The situation now is:
- Since TCP/IP traffic isn't available, I can't windows update or virus signature update. This may be a security risk...

Is this something to worry about? I thought virus require an IP connection. However I'm not 100% confident that this PC is safe...

Thanks!
