I am running Linux Redhat 9 with Apache 2.0.40

My main domain runs fine and I have no proble accessing it but when I try to access one of my virutal domains I get

An error occured while loading

Could not connect to host
I have set the viruals up to run as a IP base domain and a name base domain with no luck. The DNS is working fine and when I try to ping them with ping it comes back with the right IP but tells me that icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Stuart

First, is you main domain also a vhost. Once you have a vhost, the main no longer gets served and the first vhost defined becomes the default. Unless you are using SSL, go back to name based addressing. Check the following in httpd.conf:

1. ServerName (this should be commented out or changed to localhost)
2. UseCanonicalNames (this should be set to Off)

3. Listen xx.xxx.xx.x:80 (this is nice to have)

4. NameVirtualHost * (use name based addressing)

Use the sample vhost and make sure you use the ServerName directive or apache won't be able to find you vhost.
