virtual toll free

Many companies are offering virtual toll free service. They give you:
Toll Free number - Local Numbers -Call routing -caller ID -Messages and faxes sent as an email attachment, or can also be checked online (time stamped, w/ Caller ID)
-Message notification – and many other options.

I am interested in the application they use for doing this. Can anyone give more information about this or
refer me to a helpful website.

I would guess home grown voice XML application running on gateway that is diverting fax's from regular calls.. then running fax's into faxover ip system and diverting voice calls to a VOIP network. Depending on scale on the cisco side AS5300's do this rather well...
