Virtual Servers not started

I got a call from one of the bosses saying that they haevn't been receiving external e-mail. After looking into it, it looks like the Default Servers for IMAP4, NNTP and POP3 have a red x on them. I tried to restart them, but they will not restart. How do I get them started again? It looks like someone in my organization tried to disable relaying as I don't see any option for Anonymous Access anymore. The last recent backup is 10 days old and I can restore that if that will resolve the problem, but don't want people to lose 10 days worth of mail, etc. Any help is appreciated! TIA!
