Virtual Memory Too Low

I've notice every once in a while I get a message popping up on the lower right saying "Virtual Memory Too Low". What is this all about? Most of the time I only have one window open just surfing or checking mail. I've never seen this before.

My recommendation is that you make the paging file 2½ times the size of the memory installed ... ensuring that the Initial & Maximum levels have been set identically ...

ideally the initial size should be equal to the size of the memory installed and the maximum should be no more than 2½ the size of the memory installed ... however, I'd recommend that you set them both to 2½ times the memory installed to prevent fragmentation ...

that's the way I set all my machines up ...
