Virtual MAS & Virtual MCD

Hi Guys,

I have a development environment containing a virtual MCD platform and virtual MAS, looking through the engineering guidelines I cannot see anything specific to configuring NuPoint VM service between the two virtual platforms.

I may be being a complete dunce but I cannot figure out how to get my vitual MCD to communicate with my virtual MAS instance, I have set up the hunt groups, COS options, and voicemail ports on the MCD and the Line groups on the MAS.

Has anyone else have any experience with these platforms or have been able to set up sime voicemail services between the two?

Just treat it as you normally would for physical servers
When you setup the line group in MAS it asked for the 3300 IP address and registration codes etc.

Are you able to ping the MCD from the MAS and vice-versa?

Not really sure what your asking here?, you have set up voice ports on the MCD and line groups on the Nupoint, you are there!.
The only gotcha I have seen lately is that you now have to add the MCD IP address to the MAS/Nupoint through the Users and Services tab on the MAS under network element rather than actually in the nupoint, maybe this is what you mean.

Are the 2 systems on the same subnet?

If not you need to add the MCD network as a local network.

If they are on the same network, then there is nothing different in setup for virtual.

Thanks for the responses guys,

Supernova - in the NuPoint web console -> edit offline configuration, I have added a single voicemail line group containing two lines which are linked to the MCD in the network elements form. I have set the application type to NuPoint voice.

boycey - The MCD has been added to the SAS network elements form (users and services tab).

kwbMitel - Yes both virtual appliances are on the same subnet, in fact they are on the same physical server connected via a vSwitch.

I have set up the MCD and MAS to the letter in the engineers guide but for some reason it will always give me an "out of service" message if I try to ring either the voicemail hunt group or event the voicemail ports themselves.

Sorry to waste you time guys, I have now got it working. I did not have the MWI COS configured, once I set the appropriate COS options it started to work. Again thanks for the responses.
