Hi, here I have a question about the virtual machines running win server 2003.

The host computer is running Windows 7, and I use virtual PC 2007 created two virtual machines named server1 and server2. I already set server1 as domain control and DNS server. Now, I try to let server2 join the domain as a second domain control. I set server2 in workgroup when I installed the system. Now when I tried to join it into the domain by changing it to member of domain, there is error message "domain controller of domain xxxxx can't contact".

can anyone give me some information about what is the problem. how to set up the network connecting for the virtual machine? I used NAT for both virtual machines.

Thank you very much!!!

Can you ping the current domain controller? Make sure that you are on the same subnet for the VM's. I haven't used Virtual PC so I'm not exactly sure how it works.

Oh and how are you putting in the domain? MyDomain.com, or MYDOMAIN...try both (short name and fully qualified).

Regards,

J

Oh, and you might want to put in the ip address of the domain controller in as your primary DNS of your second VM.
