We currently have two Pix 515 in failover setup, but we also have two netgear (layer3) switches connected to the Pix for failover on the switch side of things. The problem is if PIX#1 is connected to Netgear#1 and the Netgear fails, the network goes down. Is there a way to create a virtual interface with two physical interfaces on a PIX 515 so i can plug in the virtual connection to both Netgear Switches? That way if one Switch goes down the second Switch will keep the network up. Thanks.

I am pretty certain that failover can be configured to monitor both the public and private interface. If communications is lost of either on, it will initiate a failover. There is nothing in the PIX code (that I know of) that will allow you to do what you ask.

It is what it is!!
