Hi friends,

Again, I'm a newbie to the NS700 so please be gentle. :)

How can I setup a new extension which does not have a handset and just forwards to a cell phone when someone in the building dials the 3-digit extension?

I greatly appreciate any tips or suggestions.

Thank you!
-Bob

We do that exact thing when we need to transfer AA dial presses back out into the world. I.e option 5 dials ext 300, but 300 has nothing connected to it, so we call it a phantom extension. That extension has Forward All set to a number, i.e. 9905555555 with the dial code being 9 at the front. Same thing would happen if someone tried to intercom it, it would call said number that it was forwarded to.

Hi, and thanks for this!

What about doing portable extensions?

I should have mentioned they'd really like it to show up in Communications Assistant.

Cheers

Truth be told, haven't had any experience as far as that goes. Hopefully someone else on here has!

If you setup a portable station, then do a call forward to the cell phone.

In cos you have to allow external call forward for it to work. Dial the 3 digit extension and it calls to mobile

Hi obt.

Yes, it works. I just wish it would go into the central contact list in everyone's Communications Assistant.

Did you try setting a speed dial with the extension number in as the dial string
