I have a site that is not connected back to the UCx yet. I am trying to build a virtual ext. then call forward it to a MISC Destination to the main number of the remote site. The customers wants the users to be able to call and transfer calls via a 4 digit ext number. I built the MISC destination and I can point a did number at it and it works fine. but when I point the same DID at the virtual it does not work. For some reason I thought I had to activate a package for this to work but can't remember . Any input would be great.

Thanks BB

If I understand it correctly, you want to use a virtual extension with call forwarding to allow users on the UCx to dial 4 digits in order to reach the remote site. If that's the case, you probably don't need either. Just add the 4 digits (or a pattern that matches the 4 digit extensions at the remote site) to the outbound route to the remote site. When a user dials the 4 digits, the call will be routed over that outbound route to the remote site.

An alternative method to outbound routes is to create a misc application with a feature code of your chosen 4 digits. Then point it to your misc destination that has the remote phone number. Then it can be used in other modules as a transfer destination as well.

Why not just use the FMFM? I do it all the time. I have a site that has several trucks on the road with cellphones for the drivers. They all have virtual extensions on the UCX with the FMFM target as their cell numbers. Works perfectly.
