VIO Upgrade

I have a 2 vio servers that I need to upgrade. I understand how to upgrade the VIO but was wondering if that would upgrade the AIX that lies underneath, or do I have to do that separately?

If I have to upgrade AIX on its own, what is the procedure to get these upgraded?

No, you don't need to update them seperately. Upgrading the VIO Server software level updates the underlying AIX level also.
