Alright, I'm a little confused. I have been trying to get a version of VIM that has unlimited undo buffers on my Slackware 8.0 box. I have tried several versions and none of them seem to have it! Currently, I have VIM 6.2 ( compiled and working on the box except that it only has one command stored in the undo buffer. What gives? I thought VIM was supposed to have that feature? Do I have to turn it on somehow through a .vimrc file or something?

Thanks,

Nevermind, I figured it out. It turns out, that if you don't have a .vimrc file (even an empty one), then VIM goes into vi compact mode and you have no undo levels even though my undolevels where reportedly set to 1000. Man, that was annoying.
