Viewsonic flat panel blinks out

My system is a Dell Precision 360 - stock except for a Saphire ATI 9200 feeding a Viewsonic VP201mb via the DVI conncetor. as the workday progresses the screen will blank out and and a small popup will announce DIGITAL and the screen will return to usefulness... according to Dell and Viewsonic they've never seen this problem. the Saphire 9200 has the most current drivers from the Saphire website - I haven't tried to use ATI drivers.

check if "dvi operating mode alternate" or similar is checked under options of Saphire ATI 9200.

oops.. any fleck towards brain dead... the video card is an APOLLO (ATI9200) clone card. thanks for any suggestions. walt
