My monitor would occasionally fold to the bottom half of the screen and it would over lap in the middle of screen on itself and the middle line was extremely bright. It would usually fix itself or I would tappy tap it and it would correct it self until one day six months ago it permanently stayed that way. I just pulled it out of the closet to see if I could possibly find away to fix it. Any suggestions, it's actaully a really nice monitor 1600X1200 .25 dpi. I have another viewmate that is not as good as that one for my two pc's with a kvm, but i would really like to fix my good monitor. It's not a vid card issue, driver issue. It's defenately the monitor. I have tested it on several computers and same thing. I was thinking about the vertical size adjusment inside the monitor itself not the osd. Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated.

It looks like there's a defective part in the vertical deflection section. Is it the transistor that's getting tired or is it the yoke that got shorted? Check if you can get your hands on a serice manual or the schematics. It will help you locate the faulty parts.
Did you Google the brand and part number of your monitor? Many times you're not alone with the problem, and you may find a place that says exactly what part you have to change.
