Hello all,

I want to view the data in our traffic reports. I've selected the desired options in the Traffic Options form, left it a couple of days, now I enter the command Traf Fil in maintenance commands & see all the files that have been created. I then type traf pri xxx, & I get the message that the file has been queued for printing, I have no physical printer connected to the system but seem to remember on the SX2000 that you could enter the commamnd en p/n & the file would be displayed on the screen, can I do anything like this on a 3300 (7.0) which I could copy & paste into an email or something?

Cheers

From the Help Files:

Traffic Reporting Conditions
-In order to access the Traffic Measurement Facility, the user must have access to the System Administration Tool.
-In order to obtain copies of traffic reports, the printer must be cabled and operational.
-You can collect traffic reporting details through output streaming.

FYI - The Printer Port can be captured via Telnet Port 1754

Thanks for the reply & sorry to have to ask; 'You can collect traffic reporting details through output streaming' this sounds like what I want but I'm clueless with stuff like this so how would I go about capturing the printer port via telnet port 1754, I'm guessing this isn't done through the maintenance commands on the 3300?

Cheers

The traffic files are stored on the hard disk, might be easier for you to just retrieve them via FTP then do whatever you need to do with them from the FTP client machine. If you're familiar with Expect, you can even use OpsManager to automate this task.

Most, if not all, terminal emulation programs have the ability to telnet and capture data. No commands or actions required on the 3300.

Cheers guys, I'll give a bit of history, basically a customer has asked if there is any way to determine the amount of calls coming in to 3 of their sites main numbers using the 3300 (they have one 3300 at each site), the only thing I could think of was traffic files (which I used to capture to a txt file many years ago on the SX2000's, all through the maintenance screen), however it seems a bit tricky to actually view the traffic files on the 3300.
I've never used ftp so wouldn't know where to look for the traffic files (or really know what to do if I found them), & not sure what commands I would issue from a terminal emulation program. Apologies if I seem a bit thick but I've never done this before.
I'm now starting to think that this is something the customer isn't going to be able to easily do themselves if they wanted to generate a report. So I pose the question to you guys; is there any way to determine the amount calls coming into each main number at 3 different sites using the 3300?

I have successfully captured traffic, form prints, etc to Procomm capture files. Telnet into the ICP port 23. logon and enter ena p/n. In the procomm window enter ESC twice (this stops dedicated printing) Type the command yoou want i.e "fo" or "traf pri" to port LPR3. Mitel doesn't support this but it works.
