Is there any way to view the transaction logs on a given DC in sqlserver 2000. A table was truncated (I hate when people think they know how to use ddl) and I need to recover the data. This was a new server and backups were not set up to run on it yet.
I have already looked into purchasing the lumigent program Log Explorer, but it's too expensive.
Are there any other utililties or ways to write an app that would enable me to view the transact logs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately NOT! The Log Explorer tool is well worth its price. It has saved me on several occassions. Only issue is that you can only install it on one server. You cannot bounce the copy from server to server to fight fires. Makes sense.

Thanks
